Dr. Darryl McElveen
Veterinarian
Dr. Darryl McElveen (Doc) earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Armstrong State College and a master’s degree in physiology, as well as a doctorate, from the University of Georgia. Early in his career, he developed an interest in dermatology and soft tissue surgery.
Doc has a big heart for puppies, kittens, babies, and anything that can be planted in the dirt (he is a Master Gardener graduate from Clemson University after all). He loves spending time with his family: his wife, three grown children, and their spouses, his nine grandchildren (whom he lovingly calls “The Grizzlies,” his camping buddies), two dogs, and two cats!

Dr. Leo Krick
Veterinarian
Dr. Leo Krick was born and raised in Greenville. During his senior year of high school, he interned at Pleasantburg Veterinary Clinic, working and learning from Dr. McElveen. The following summer, he started work as a veterinary assistant and supportive team member within the kennels. He continued working as a veterinary assistant with the hospital throughout his college undergraduate studies and his externship.
Dr. Krick received his bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Clemson University. He later earned his doctorate from the University of Georgia, where he served as Student American Veterinary Medical Association (SAVMA) President and UGA College of Veterinary Medicine Student Ambassador. His favorite part of veterinary medicine is getting to know clients and meeting their pets. His specific interests in veterinary medicine include nutrition, dermatology, and ophthalmology.
Dr. Krick enjoys skiing, fly fishing, wakeboarding, and spending time with friends.

Dr. Betsy Flowers
Veterinarian
Dr. Betsy Flowers is a Greenville native and originally worked as a veterinary assistant at Pleasantburg Veterinary Clinic in college while earning her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Clemson University. She received her doctorate from the University of Georgia, graduating with summa cum laude honors.
In her spare time, Dr. Flowers enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog, Finn, attending Clemson football games, and exploring downtown Greenville. She is a true extrovert and loves the social interaction and lasting relationships that are part of daily life in veterinary medicine.
